Setsuko Higa
Spanish-Japanese interpreter, subtitle translator, and film distributor.
After graduating from Kansai Gaidai University and studying in Mexico on a government scholarship, she began her career as a Spanish interpreter for corporations, international organizations, and film festivals. In 1999, she founded Action Inc. and has since specialized in audiovisual translation, subtitling, and media delivery for films and documentaries. She also distributes Spanish and Latin American films in Japan. Her subtitled works include Suite Habana, The Sleeping Voice, and Battle of Chile. Currently, she teaches a subtitling workshop at the Instituto Cervantes Tokyo.
